Google Maps

RapidMart uses Google for address search (“Search street, area or building”), turning a pin into an address, and better place search on the admin maps. The maps themselves (zone editor, store pin) need no key.

Create the key

Section titled “Create the key”
  1. Google Cloud console → create or pick a project → set up billing (Google’s monthly free credit covers small marketplaces).
  2. APIs & Services → Library → enable Places API and Geocoding API.
  3. APIs & Services → Credentials → Create credentials → API key.
  4. Restrict it: Application restrictions → IP addresses → your server’s IP; API restrictions → Places API and Geocoding API.

Add it to RapidMart

Section titled “Add it to RapidMart”

Admin → Settings → Integrations → Google Maps → API key → Save.

The customer app shows Google maps too, with its own key (Maps SDK for Android and iOS) — see Google Maps in the app.
