Visitor country

RapidMart works out which country a visitor is in from their IP address, so it can pre-select their market — for example, the phone code on the store panel’s sign-in starts with theirs.

It uses, in order:

1. Your CDN’s country header. If your site is behind Cloudflare (any plan), this works with no setup.
2. MaxMind’s free GeoLite2 database, stored on your server — IP addresses are never sent anywhere.
3. The visitor’s browser time zone, then your default market.

Set up MaxMind (if you don’t use Cloudflare)

1. Create a free account: maxmind.com → GeoLite.
2. MaxMind → Account → Manage license keys → Generate new license key. Copy the key (it’s shown once) and your Account ID.
3. RapidMart admin → Settings → Integrations → Visitor country → enter both → Save.
4. Click Download the database now. The card shows Database ready.

The scheduler refreshes the database every week (Server setup).
