Push notifications
RapidMart sends push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging: order updates to customers, the new-order alarm to stores, job offers to riders, and your campaigns (Admin → Notifications → Campaigns).
You need: the server’s Firebase service account (Firebase), each app connected to Firebase (Firebase for the apps), and a running queue worker (Server setup).
Android
Section titled “Android”Nothing more to do — Android receives notifications as soon as the app is connected to Firebase.
iOS: upload your APNs key
Section titled “iOS: upload your APNs key”Apple delivers iOS notifications. Firebase needs a key to talk to Apple — one key covers all your apps.
- Apple Developer → Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Keys → +.
- Name it (for example Firebase push), tick Apple Push Notifications service (APNs), then
Continue → Register → Download. You get a
.p8file (you can download it only once — keep it safe). Note the Key ID. - Note your Team ID (Apple Developer → Membership).
- Firebase console → Project settings → Cloud Messaging → your iOS app → APNs
Authentication Key → Upload → choose the
.p8, enter the Key ID and Team ID. - Repeat step 4 for each iOS app (customer, seller, rider) in the same project.
In Xcode, each app’s Runner target already has the Push Notifications capability; keep it.
Test it
Section titled “Test it”- Install the app on a real phone (iOS simulators don’t receive pushes) and sign in, allowing notifications.
- Admin → Notifications → New campaign → create a campaign (don’t schedule it), then on its page click Send test and pick your own account.
- Nothing arrives? Check Admin → System health (is the worker running?), that the service account is saved, and on iOS that the APNs key is uploaded for that app.
